Metal roofing - modern, durable, light

For a long time, metal roofing is no longer just the domain of industrial buildings and sports halls. Due to its advantages, it is widely used in the modern architecture of residential buildings, public buildings and auxiliary buildings, such as canopies and canopies. Check out the features that make this type of roofing more and more used, as well as in which areas in Slovenia it is less common.

Sheet metal roofing is distinguished by its low weight

The low weight means that the metal roofing reduces the static load on the roof and the building. Because of this, the construction of the roof can be lighter, which lowers the cost of construction and allows greater freedom of architectural expression.

Only in one case can the lower weight of the covering prove to be disadvantageous. We are talking about geographical areas with frequent strong and gusty winds, such as the Vipava Valley and Karst area in Slovenia with strong thunderstorms. Even there, it is possible to install a tin roof, but additional reinforcements and fastenings can negate the financial savings.

Durability of sheet metal

The sheet metal is otherwise extremely resistant and durable when properly installed, given the expected weather phenomena. Snow, heavy rainfall and wind do not harm it, as evidenced by the use of tin roofs for huts and bivouacs in the highlands.

The fear of rusting is unnecessary. Modern roofs are anti-corrosion protected by galvanizing and then coated with a colored layer.

Minimal maintenance

A roof made of sheet metal requires a minimum amount of maintenance - only periodic inspections are required. When installed correctly, the lifespan of a sheet metal roof is several decades.

For lighter colors - e.g. white or light gray - for aesthetic reasons, if necessary, cleaning can be carried out with a high-pressure cleaner and a dedicated detergent.

(Almost) unlimited architectural possibilities

Rarely does any other type of roofing offer the architect so much freedom in the design of the building and its roof - both in terms of shape and color. The sheet metal can be bent, cut and joined in a variety of ways, and the extensive color palette according to the RAL color scale enables perfect adaptation to OPPN requirements and the wishes of the investor.

By choosing relief, texture and color, we can achieve both an urban modern and a more traditional look, suitable for rural environments or areas with special requirements, such as nature and landscape parks.

It is also very suitable for the construction of flat roofs and single-pitched roofs with a small slope.

Quick, easy and clean installation

Time is money, so one of the aspects when choosing a roof covering is the speed and ease of installation.

Sheet roofing is installed by trained roofers-locksmiths in an extremely short time. In the case of new buildings, this means that they have an "attic" earlier, while in the case of adaptations or roof replacements, the building is exposed for less time and thus exposed to the effects of the weather.

Sheet metal roofing is ecological

An aspect that cannot be overlooked in times of ever-increasing environmental awareness – tin roofing can be completely recycled, and at the same time, the proportion of recycled tin that is used to make new roofing is also increasing.

The well-known durability of sheet metal roofing and its long service life additionally help to reduce the environmental footprint.
