The lightning rod represents the protection of objects against lightning strikes, as the lightning rod attracts it and conducts its electric current into the ground.
Description
A lightning strike is a natural phenomenon and represents an electrical discharge that is the result of static electricity between clouds and the ground or between two clouds. The lightning rod protects objects from lightning strikes, as it attracts lightning and conducts its electric current into the ground. We distinguish between direct lightning strikes (lightning strikes directly into the object) and indirect lightning strikes (lightning strikes near the object, and the overvoltage is transferred to the object via conductive conductors such as electrical conductors, metal pipes, etc.).
